kelly
I think that it is terrible that she was disqualified over the suit. It is part of her religion and the officials should have respected that and let her run with it. They should have been thinking like well it is more clothes on her and resistance to the wind so that would be an advantage to everyone else nad make things fair for the others.
2. What is your argument regarding the assertion that Kelly's disqualification constitutes religious discrimination? Does the disqualification of other athletes for non-religious reasons affect your response? If so, why or why not?
That no one else wwas discriminated for this. Also, people are weird and racist while not meaning to be, i admit I am sometimes, so it is easy for it to happen. think that it is discrimination because she has been using the outfir for more than three years and they choose this race to put an end to the suit and make a statement.
3. If you were to write an argumentative essay on this decision, what further information would you need to obtain to construct a more logos-based argument and counterargument?
Whether or not more peopel with religious issues got disqualified. What if someone was a hard core Jew and wore a yamacai all the time, but it wasn't bothering anyone and would be gaurenteed not to fall off and interfere with anyone. Would that person get into trouble? All situations should be thought of and all backgrounds should be thought of and how they rules of
4. How effectively does Rogers defend his stance?
Not well, people of faith should be given some slack. If they are ready and willing to go that extra mile for their God then they should be givin the opportunity to do so. It shows determination and integrity, as well as the drive to do something when people will be looking and questioning your choice. It shows they have a strong will and confidence, which everyone likes, so they should be able ot wear what they need to to meet their religious goals.
5. What are some potential solutions to pursue regarding implementing track rules?
Potential solutions regarding implementing rules: Actually I feel dumb, but i do not understand this question. I have been thinking about it for at least five minutes and it is not sinking in :(
6. If the single solid color rule was implemented so that judges could more easily distinguish the results of a close finish, would this change your response to Kelly's disqualification? Explain your answer.
No, i do not think that it would help judges out. I think that if eveyone had their own thing going on the judges should be able to see who won, but if things we all the same color how would that help the judges? And if they do want a single color suit, i think they would still be sticklers about letting kelly run with her head covered.

songsss
Blue grass song about welfare. This song is about how people should get off their butts and do something with their lives and not take advantage of people who are working for them to slack off. Yeah there are some people taht legitamately need it because they are disabled or something, but there are some who definitely take advantage of the system and other peoples money.
Rap song about politics and the upcoming election. This song is like the first rap song ever against Obama, RARE! The artist talks about what Obama really stands for and what will happen if he does become the president. They talk about how George Bush really does care about black people (kanye west) and that McCain is like him the president because he does as well, despite all of the resports of a white america. Very crazy and ballsy talking politics like this, with antiobama sentiment, expecially with the MTV concert going on tomorrow night with people who are all for Obama.
A uplifting christian song about life for all, and anti abortion. the artist comes out and says that everyone should be given a chance at life, no matter what, even if the mother was raped or was incestually brought to motherhood... The singers mother was raped by an uncle, but still gave birth to them and look how well they turned out. Everyone should have a chance to make their own mark uppon the world. it shouldnt be like oh i made a mistake, now let me fix it and get an abortion. that is terrible, everyone should have a go.
CLassical ballad about gay marriage. The artists say their views on how marraige is between a mand and a woman and it is a love story of how the two people met and how things should be in the world. It was adam and eve, not adam and steve. it will just about the things that go on, like how gay couples are going to the courts in drones trying to get things reversed in the country.
For example, how would a country song and a rap song differ in dealing with domestic violence? For example, if you disagree with capital punishment, an entry might look like this:Song title: "When Justice reVOLTs"Genre: RapExplanation: This song explores the injustices of capital punishment, particularly towards minorities. The song will have sound bytes of interviews with men who were wrongfully placed on death row, underscored by explicit lyrics that compare and contrast the unfair treatment of minorities accused of crimes as opposed to caucasians exonerated for crimes. Socio-economic factors are also addressed.
Country song about patriotism and fighting for out country. This song is basically about standing up for what you believe in and defending those views by serving your contry and protecting out freedoms. It deals with people who take the initiative to do what is best and defend America. they willl evoke emotion by telling bittersweet stories from first hand accounts of the soilders on the was to fighting.

war
I think that the picture is showing the hero's of today and that we should be grateful to them and honor them, but at the same time the pictures show the negative effects or war and how sad it can be. The picture from the book shows soldiers draping the American Flag on the coffin before take off, showing the fallin hero, but you can see the dispair of the people on the plane through the windows. The people look like they are just caught up in a picture, but some of them have a wary face on, like they are upset and they know what is going on in the plane below them. In the pictures from the blog, the children looking at the coffin are the focal point of one of the pictures. They are looking at the coffin looking sad; it could be their father or mother or someone else close to them, which is so upsetting. They are wearing little army uniforms and showing their respects to the fallin soldier. The bittersweet thing is that they could be the hero's of tomorrow and the next casualties of war.
Now, consider that you are going to include this image in an argumentative essay that you write. What types of arguments might you construct that would use this image as visual evidence? What other images or evidence would you use to develop your argument?
Create a caption for your chosen photo that demonstrates an argument or appeal. What argument are you trying to make by appending those words to your image? Did you incorporate logos, ethos, and/or pathos in your caption? If so, explain why your choices most effectively supported your argument

free writes arguments
The big surprise coming out of Orchard Park this year is looking to be the Buffalo Bills, who are starting a record season so far by going 3-0; something not done since 1992. this season they have a fairly decent schedule, taking on Brett Favre and the Jets, New England, albiet no Brady, Derek Anderson and the elite receiveing core of the Cleveland Browns, and the potent offense of Phillip Rivers and Ladanian Tomlinson. Also, you never know from the supposed bad teams and when they are going to actually put forth their "A" game with a surprise come from behind win. The Miami Dolphins, who went 1-15 last year, started the season 0-2, but surprised the hell out the New England Patriots and went on to beat them 38-13, with Ronnie Brown rushing for four touchdowns on the supposedly tough as nails Patriots goal line defense. One team that I think that the Bills will totally dominate is the St. Louis Rams, who are on their way to a number one draft pick next draft season. Their receiving core is plagued with injuries, the ones in the game aren't worth their paychecks beacuse of no big catches, Steven Jackson isn't back to where he needs to be as a running back, Marc Bulger is Mr. Sacked Man, and the defense is being obliterated by every offense that comes their way; even the Seattle Seahawks demolished them! By the looks of it, the bills are shaping up to start 5-0, unless Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals can upset them.
Let us look at the Cardinals shall we? They have gone the first two games this season without any turnovers, and what happens in week three?? They have two! Kurt Warner throws a pick and Edgerrin James, a new member of the 15,ooo+ yard career club, had a fumble. What is up with that? But underneath those mistakes lies a highly potent offense which could explode if Warner can get above the 200 yard mark for a game, which what happened in week two when he had 361 passing yards and a perfect passer rating. The Bills passer defense

steroidsss........
The video failed to address the effects that steroids could have on women and young children, say like highschool age or younger. What could happen to the young kids? They are still developing mentally and physically until the early 20’s, what effects would steroid have on their development.
I think that if used responsibly, steroids can be legal, but for people over the age of 30, and who are responsible. Also, maybe not sports people, because we pay them so much money for them to be good, not for steroids to do all the work for them. Just probably for weightlifters and people who want to get bigger. Definitely not for young kids, just responsible adults, since it has been working for older men for so long, with no side effects.
I think steroid testing in middle schools and high schools should definitely be mandatory. Those children are still developing and shouldn’t take steroids, for fear of long term effects that will screw up that development. Steroid testing should be frequent and random and be used to catch the kids who think it will be good for them. And for professional athletes versus young kids… I think that kids should be tested more, but professional athletes should be tested a lot too. We pay them millions of dollars for them to do the hard work and to put in the effort, we do not pay the steroids for doing their job. Steroids should only be sued by lifters and responsible adults who know what they are doing, if even they should be doing that. There doesn’t seem to be any long term effects that are bad for people, as according to the video, so it will be fine to use if you are responsible.
I do think that steroids have a little competitiveness associated with them, people take them and try to get bigger and faster, to be the best of the best. It is making people think that they should just use them to get bigger and to be the best, instead of using their own brawn and own will to do their best. Kids see how athletes are big and excel with what they do, and hear that they get busted and steroids are at fault. Kids think that is pretty cool and that it could work for them and decide to try it. What kid wouldn’t want to be the best, or be all-state and get scholarships to all the big colleges?
